Merivale AllStars - Our Health Team

In early 2012 our 'Health Team' was established, and the students involved decided that they didn't want to be called "The Health Team".  So, the students brainstormed and collectively decided that we would be called the "Merivale AllStars".  And so, our journey began.

By the start of 2013, the AllStars had been restructured to include new students to replace the Year 6 students who had left, and also appointing a new Team Leader - Whaea Tarnz.  We are now a team of 12 and we oversee a range of activities within the school, from Waste Collection to Garden Management and Maintenance.

Our priority for Terms 1 and 2 has been to look at the amount of waste our school generates; how we can reduce this waste; and how effectively we are recycling.  We are currently in charge of the recycling and waste programs at school.

Our Team meets every Thursday at 12.30pm in the Library, to look at where we are in terms of our Bronze Accreditation;  and to discuss any concerns that have arisen.  We welcome any parents, whānau or interested people who want to share in this exciting journey with us.
